The Ambassador of the Republic of Poland, HE Mr Witold Sobkow, addressed the Conservative Foreign and Commonwealth Council last night following its Annual General Meeting. The Ambassador has had a long and interesting career in foreign affairs covering European foreign policy and the Eastern Partnership Initiative.
Ambassador Witold Sobków gave a talk about Poland’s economic and political success, particularly since 1980. He spoke about EU membership and the country’s role in the EU and NATO as well as providing as assessment of Poland’s strategic priorities in the years to come.
Three great anniversaries will be celebrated by Poland this year: 25 years since the end of the Cold War, 15 years of NATO and 10 years of EU membership. See details of a recent event held at the embassy here.
