Bahrain Ambassador

His Excellency gave an excellent overview of his role and challenges as well as a briefing on progress in Bahrain and as President of the Gulf Co-operation Council.

These are exciting times for the Gulf.  When the PM, Theresa May, visited the Gulf last December, it was the first visit by a female leader. Brexit seems to present many opportunities and Bahrain is reassuring in its support for an effective relationship with the UK and the EU.  Ease of doing business has accelerated and there have also been visits by HRH Prince of Wales and the Foreign Secretary.

Human rights - many common positions shared as in regional security.  Optimistic about what lies ahead "your security, is our security" and "your prosperity is our prosperity".
