Ambassador at Lectern

Ambassador Martin EICHTINGER hosted a marvellous Briefing and Reception for members including the Chairman of the All Party Parliamentary Group for Austria, Sir Peter Bottomley MP.

The Ambassador referred to the country becoming a "tremendous success story" and the 5th richest country in the EU.  Se this document for further insights on Austria here.  Austrian Business Agency details here.  Fact and figures including economic data here.

In 2015 the UK Foreign Secretary visited Austria no less than eight times. With the prospect of Brexit in mind he stated "We have to find a modus vivendi; and we will" and heralded the many parallels between Austria and the UK.
